We are the experts in HCBS Waiver programs, billing clinics and assisting those agencies who have moved to Behavioral Health for their Foster Care programs. We have already created a plan for agencies to smoothly transition for the MCO regulations in effect next year. (We are prepared for the new MCO regulations in effect next year). We are successfully collecting MCO payment for some agencies who have already made the transition.

Medicaid Billing

This office has more than 35 years of experience with NYS Medicaid and adapt to all regulation changes. Our own in-house billing software is part of our commitment to efficiency, quality, and service. Since 1983, our success has been dependent upon making your billing process.

We have created our own interface for converting the current 837i, institutional format, to the new MCO 837i. This interface is also able to distinguish between the Medicaid format and the Managed Care formats, with many similarities and differences often between MCO’s. With your client file, we can use our online utilities for EDI (270/271 & 276/277 & 835). Following conversion, with your client list, we are able to look-up which MCO carrier each is attached to.

MCO Billing

Our billing specialists will prepare the MCO billing file (837) specific for each carrier and transmit through our portal to each MCO.Then we check the response file (277) to ensure all claims are accepted by each carrier.

For the payment, we process the electronic remittances (835) and post to each client's A/R. If there are denied claims, we will re-process and re-file with the customer's assistance. We will provide reports on all phases from billing, transmittal, response and remittance to the customer.

MEVV (Medical Electronic Visit Verification)

A mandate of the 21st Century Cures Act

All states were to comply with EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) implementation, by January 1, 2020, to avoid a reduction in federal Medicaid funding. While NYS received a one-year extension, a system is needed. NYS Medicaid programs impacted by this mandate include, Community Habilitation and Skills Acquisition Maintenance and Enhancement, Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), and Personal Care Services Program (PCSP). To comply with this mandate, a system must include point-of care verification.

Goodspeed Medical has EVV software. The capabilities include chronological and GPS verification, the service(s), and the duration of each service. Within an agency, an administrator can identify each clinician by code, and each clinician has a device to login/logout each day by their PIN. When logging in, a clinician can identify the client and service(s) required at each location. After login, in real time, the software stamps the date, time of arrival and departure at each location, without continued or additional action by the clinician. This can also assist to validate hours for necessary employee including but not limited to alcohol and substance abuse treatment (OASAS), day habilitation (OMH), and respite care (OPWDD).

OMH Billing

NYS Office of Mental Health has residential programs and clinics operating with a mixture of Medicaid and Managed Care. Many article 32 clinics are now required to make the move to MCO, as well.
